Reverending

It was a very busy summer, lots of travel and lots weddings.  Most recently we went to Lake Geneva Wisconsin for Jess' cousin's Tom's wedding.  They asked me to preside over the ceremony.  It was a beautiful day and a great weekend...

The Day after the wedding we met some friends who have a boat on Lake Geneva and took in the last days of summer out on the water...

We also were in Kentucky (Near Cincinnati) for a wedding the week prior.  It was another busy but fun weekend.  I took my bike and found some great roads...

We went to a German bar where they all drank big beers and danced on the tables, so I couldn't let down the family name.  Those are people's personal mugs locked up behind me

Finally, they have been filming Transformers 3 in Chicago, the city has been littered with wreckage and explosions all summer long.

Summer happenings

It’s hard to believe summer is half over. As usual we’ve kept ourselves pretty busy over the past couple months, here are some pictures from some of the summer fun we’ve been having…

We spent a lovely afternoon at Wrigley Field, the Cubs won and where I would usually not be a big fan of that, they beat the Reds so I guess it wasn't so bad.

We made a long weekend trip to Omaha to visit my cousin and some college friends, we aslo watched a college world series game.

Uncle John just moved to Lake St. Louis and we were out there for my cousins Graduation party, so I decided to do a little skiing.

This is Jess and I at her coworkers wedding a couple weeks ago.
Jess' cousin had a 4th of July party, it was a hot one!

Washington Wedding

We have 5 weddings to go to this year.  Kyle's was the first.  It was in Washington on a Bluff overlooking the river.  It was a beautiful and warm day.  Addison was the flower girl, we had a blast.

Doin' Work

It seems like we’ve been hibernating for the winter, we haven’t been up to much lately. However last weekend we spent a day working on a house for a woman who recently had a stroke. As you can see the house was not in very good shape, Jess and I patched the bottom concrete step, helped to scrape old paint off of the front porch, repaint the porch and laid floor in the kitchen. It was a long day, but we had a great time, now we just need a house of our own to work on.

Up in the Rockies

A few weeks ago I found out that I would be starting a new job a week later.  So, I decided to take a quick vacation with my last week of freedom.  My friend Greg and his wife justed moved to Vail, CO, so i went to visit them for the week.  I had never been out there and it was absolutely amazing!  We skiied a couple days, hiked, and cross country skiied straig up a hill in Leadville, the highest city in the US.  It was hard to come home....

Dusty Mexican Borderland

I was lucky enough to spend nearly two and a half weeks out in Arizona over the holidays.  I spent the first week with Jess and my cousins doing all sorts of fun stuff.  We hiked in the Grand Canyon and Sedona.  We went skydiving and went to a few parties as well.  I took a ton of picutres, here are a few of my favorites.

The second week I spent mostly on my bike.  A little less eventfull but the weather was beautiful...

Architectural Artifacts

Last weekend we went to a wedding, the reception was at this place called Architectural Artifacts.  It's an old industrial building that is now being used as a huge Antique store.  The top 3 floors contain 'Artifacts' from old buildings from around the city.  The only way to explain is to show the pictures.  There were some very cool things there...
